When we read documents our brain must connect the text with the correct phonem in order to access our language centers and make sense of the material. Phonems are the simplest language elements recognized by the brain. Students with dyslexia generally have problems recognizing and/or processing one or more phonems, or mapping some printed letter combinations to the proper phonem. This why people with dyslexia generally can understand the spoken word, but have problems interpreting the meaning of some letter combinations in text while reading.
Since reading is the primary way most educational systems present material this creates a significant problem for the dyslexic. ConfidentReader software converts text to naturally sounding speech, thus bypassing the text-phonem processing problem experienced by people with dyslexia. Additionally, with the spoken word reinforcing the text as it is read helps people with dyslexia learn to compensate more efficiently.
|
ConfidentReader plays to the person’s strengths – hearing rather than reading. The program converts electronic text to speech using a natural sounding computer generated voice. This allows people with dyslexia to bypass their text-processing problem and obtain written information aurally.
ConfidentReader reads the electronic text, speaks it, and highlights the material to help the user associate the sounds of letter combinations and the visual information more efficiently. The typing echo feature recites text back automatically by letter, word, or sentence, so mistakes in typing are heard and can be corrected immediately.
|
Teachers can use ConfidentReader Professional's batch processing functions, voice editing, audio processing, and MP3 file support to help their students improve their comprehension. This is in addition to the functions found in ConfidentReader Personal, for example, typing echo, spoken highlighted text, and the ability to read electronic text from eBooks, textbooks, web browsers, and Microsoft Outlook and Word.

Yes, we have received numerous thank you letters from satisfied customers from all over the world. Here what customers are saying about ConfidentReader...
My son has been suffering from dyslexia. Reading and spelling were so difficult for him. He was depressed and addicted to internet games.
Two months ago, one of my friends recommended me your ConfidentReader. My son finds it much easier to understand by listening to text books and class notes. Spelling is a lot easier for him with the help of your software. I notice that he has become happier and more confident. His report card shows his grades have increased so much. It is amazing! Thank your guys!

Please go to Control Panel->Speech->Text to Speech, and then click
review voice, you will see a message: "This voice cannot be played.
Please try selecting another voice or selecting a different audio output
device." This means you didn't install your sound card driver
correctly. In some situation, you can play music or movie on your
computer, because Microsoft XP installed a default driver for "Audio"
players. But you must know that "Audio" and "Speech" are quite different
issues in computer, so maybe you can not use the speech function
although you can play music.
Please install your
sound card driver again. (Normally the driver is on the CD of main
board, because the sound card is integrated with main board.)

Since Windows file size
limitation is 3G per file, you can only create an audio file which is
smaller than 3G. If the text file is very big, you can convert it by
reducing the audio quality.
|
Technically, that is no
limitation. You can convert a large number of text files to audio files
simultaneously. But if one of them is very big, the audio quality will
be reduced automatically. Please convert big text files separately.
